Ghanian actress Akosua Busia and late “Boz ‘N The Hood” director John Singleton were once married, and they had a daughter that is now a beautiful grown-up lady.

Akosua Busia is better known for her role as Nettie Harris in the 1995 movie, “The Color Purple.” She dated director John Singleton for a while and eventually tied the knot in 1996, but sadly, their relationship ended in divorce one year later.

Still, the former couple conceived a child, daughter Hadar Akosua Singleton, who is now a gorgeous 22-year-old college student.

Hadar was raised by her mother in Ghana, as Akosua explained in her website:

“I'd always said that when I have a baby, I would come out of acting until my child turned eighteen.

This is not my advice or even my suggestion for anyone else ~ It was my personal purpose and desire.”
